I joined the Chico Country Day team in 2019 as the Education Specialist at the middle school. Prior to coming to CCDS, I worked as a paraprofessional and teacher at several schools around the Chico area. In 2020, I earned my MA in Education at CSUC while focusing on student engagement.
Most of my fondest memories from school come from my 8th-grade year. Although it was a difficult year for me socially, my teacher, Mr. Silva, sparked my love for outdoor education. I’ll never forget the rare feeling of tranquility as 60 students sat in total silence atop Mt. Brokoff during a “senses gathering”. Mr. Silva taught me that learning does not always have to take place within the walls of a classroom.
When I’m not at CCDS, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, working in the garden, trying to build things, watching the Giants, and listening to stand-up comedy. I also really like cookies.
