Erin Lizardo
Twenty years ago, I arrived in Chico to study art at Chico State. I received my BA in art studio and art history with an emphasis on ceramics and sculpture. After working in design and marketing for five years, I realized that I wanted my work to be more meaningful and make positive contributions to this community, so I made a career switch to education. Prior to receiving my credential in art, I worked as an Outreach Coordinator at Blue Oak Charter School and a Library Tech at Bidwell Junior High School. I taught visual art, ceramics, graphic design, yearbook, and theatre at Durham High School; and visual art, computer science, and independent study at William Finch Charter School in Orland. I joined the CCDS community as a parent in 2021 and worked as a substitute teacher during the 22-23 school year. During that time, I completed my master’s in curriculum and instruction and multiple subject credential requirements. I am so excited to develop a dynamic (and fun!) after school program that meets student needs and provides engaging extended learning opportunities.
Off-campus, I’m actively involved in the arts and music community and collaborative community projects. Community building and continual learning bring me so much joy! At home, I’m an avid gardener, ceramicist, mom of two amazing kiddos, and bandmate/wife.
