Diego Guzman

I’m thrilled to embark on my first year of teaching at CCDS! As a Chico native, I feel a deep connection to the educational system that shaped me into the person I am today. My journey into teaching started unexpectedly. Seeking advice from a coach, it never occurred to me that most of my coaches in school were PE teachers. Since then, I ran full speed ahead to become a PE teacher, pushing myself to learn all that it means to be a great educator.

I believe that physical activity is a key to happiness that everyone can enjoy no matter who you are or what you like. I want to make sure that my students will know how to be physically active for life.

Beyond the classroom, my family plays a central role in my life. They’ve instilled in me the values of respect and kindness. Outside of school hours, you’ll find me playing pickleball, lifting weights, and playing video games. I love spending quality time with my girlfriend, friends, and family. And when I unwind, I love diving into documentaries and podcasts, always eager to learn something new!
