Debbie Hardesty

I was lucky enough to join CCDS in 2000. Prior to that I taught for 12 years in Pleasant Hill and 4 years in Antioch. My children attended CCDS which reinforced what we wanted our kids to learn: respect and responsibility. My husband and I are so proud of them because they still live by those values today as young adults.

My all-time favorite teacher was my American Studies teacher my junior year of high school. We had an exchange program where a group of small-town students from Susanville stayed with us. Because of that we took them to San Francisco and Santa Cruz to experience “big city life” together. We also had a blast performing a musical that spanned the years 1492-1960. My friends and I still break out in song when we’re together!
